Press Room Article: Association Director Sees Mission and Vision Process
Create a Unified Partnership
Ojai, Ca (PRWeb) August 1, 2004 -- In 1995, Tim Logerquist was a man
with a mission. A mission to create a unified partnership with like-minded
Baptist churches dedicated to advancing their collective mission under
one association. It would take a clear, concise mission statement that
would reflect his true purpose and engage the hearts and minds of other
ministers.
"I had been through other mission processes and inevitably they would
only take you so far" said Logerquist, Director of Missions for the Gold
Coast Baptist Association in southern California, "No one had Don's mission
and vision process (see www.missionvisionstatament.com
) that would get you to the heart of your mission, lead you to your
vision for the future and develop your guiding principle."
"This approach helped me sort out the questions to answer. To see within
me the themes repeating themselves caused me to really focus on what I
am about. I found that "catchy" words lost the heart of it. Because of
the process (discussed at www.missionvisionstatement.com
) I soon formed the language and passion of the true meaning of what
was deep within me."
"As we continued the process I was able to align the mission and vision
statements and operating principle with strategies and actions that would
yield results." This investment proved successful. Beginning in l995 twenty
churches joined in the process through the Gold Coast Baptist Association.
Today, more than thirty share the mission and continue using the process
to refine and reflect their shared vision for the future.
"We have initiated county wide strategies that have had real impact, said
Logerquist and have now identified an emerging house church movement and
its correlation to transform households and communities." It is a testament
to the commitment by Logerquist and his partners in the association that
his original mission statement stands firmly today.
"Any individual or any organization large and small can benefit from a
properly crafted mission and vision statement. Individuals, especially,
create a purpose driven life, resulting in a happier, more productive
structure of one's daily actions," said Mr. Don Midgett, Managing Partner
of The Genesis-Group and author of "Mission and Vision Statements: Your
Path to a Successful Business Future."
