Be Vision Driven in 2006 -
Happy
2006 Everyone!
I trust all is
off to a great start for your business efforts in 2006. A
new year is an exciting time, it gives us a fresh start
and it is about new choices, goals and resolutions. We
are at the start of a new year; we can choose now to continue
to do what we have done in the past or we can decide to
change.
Have you decided
what change you want in your business life in 2006? Are
you planning on doing the same thing this year and expecting
different results? Hopefully, you have decided where
you want to be at the end of this calendar year and are
starting to visualize and act on the strategic activities
and daily actions required to get you there. Begin
with your mission and vision in mind, set specific goals
and objectives, then determine your strategic activities
and daily actions to achieve these goals. Over time,
as you work your day to day actions, you achieve your strategies
and goals. This process will lead you to a path of
achievement and your desired vision.
In 2006, transform
your world into a vision driven world rather than a problem
driven one. Business owners, leaders and entrepreneurs
are the trendsetters of this concept. You want your
business to be mission and vision driven; this will lead
to the discovery of your path to a successful personal and
business future and what you must do to get up that path
and achieve your desired future.
Share your business
mission in life and desired future with those you work with,
your customers, your suppliers and in your business literature
and marketing. Why is this important? A Stanford
University study tells us that businesses who lead with
their mission and vision and develop action plans to get
there outperform businesses that do not by six to one. Gertrude
Stein wrote that "It is awfully important to know what
is and what is not your business."
January is a great time to discover or update your business
purpose and vision for the future. Make 2006 the year
that you develop or change your business mission and vision
statements and then put together a solid plan of action to
achieve them. Create your Mission and Vision Statements
today and begin your road to success.
