Dream
Jobs Can Come True
Especially If You Are An Entrepreneur
The weekend gardner
dreams about escaping their office and working with plants
all day. The weekend gourmet chef considers leaving
their accounting profession behind to open a restaurant.
These daydreams are happening every day in offices, schools
and factories.
According to findings
from a recent Hudson poll, a national staffing and outsourcing
firm based in New York, almost three-quarters of American
entrepreneurs say that being self-employed is their dream
job. The survey also found that almost half of employees
who work for private companies say being self-employed is
their dream job also. Almost 60% of both these groups
believe that entrepreneurs have more opportunity for career
and income growth.
Why do some people
have what it takes to follow their dream while others simply
continue dreaming? It is all about taking that first
step to get started. Developing your mission and vision
statements help take your dream from visualization to reality.
Then you must plan and at some point, you must execute
the plan -- get the actions done that are required.
This is the key to the entire process.
A survey referenced
in Jay Levinson's Guerrilla Marketing shows the number one
reason for any venture's failure is not the competition,
the trade, the recession, a failure of creativity or a shortage
of ideas. It's the leader, the honcho, the chief,
the top banana. A whopping 63% report that top management
at their companies do not have a clear strategic vision.
Mission and Vision
Statements help you and others to clearly see where you
want to take your business or product and lay the foundation
for strategic actions that can turn your business or product
ideas and dreams into reality.
